Communication with GDS AMADEUS

The is>tour booking system is ready to communicate with the Amadeus global distribution system using the Symphony module. The interconnection of the systems allows individual holidays to be put together with ease (without the need to copy information) and also makes it possible to create packages using regular flight tickets without these having to be registered first.

Individual holidays

Special interface is available for searching for flight tickets in the Amadeus system when putting together a holiday using individual services that are not offered together in advance in package format.

When working with a booking number, the system opens a pop-up window in which to enter the desired flight criteria. The user fills in the requirement or information is filled in automatically in advance.

The system searches for available flights and displays the search result according to price and availability. The user therefore makes a booking in the Amadeus system and adds the flight ticket to his/her booking number at is> tour, all with a single confirmation.

Dynamic packages

In addition to choosing a flight ticket with the involvement of the operator, the user is also able to enter the search criteria and price limits and to save such a template in a dynamic package.

When asked, the system then checks the availability of flights and their price, without any human operation required, and confirms the availability of the package to the person interested. When a booking request is made, the system automatically books the flight tickets and when the sale is confirmed secures them against lapsing.

Joint work with a booking number

Other operations, such as confirming a sale or making a cancellation, already proceed in the standard way and the user may work with the content of the whole booking number at the one time.

Booking a package and price differences

When calculating the price of a dynamic package containing an airline flight ticket, the product manager works with the probable price of the ticket and the limit price. The system therefore knows the prices it should draw on when preparing prices for catalogues and at what cost of flight tickets a package should be marked as unavailable in terms of the original prices.

If, when finding out the availability of a flight ticket that has been found which is more expensive than the limits submitted, the system may inform the person interested of the “current airline surcharge” that is mandatory for the package on the date in question.

Pricing individual holidays

A process that prices particular components is applied to the component parts of a holiday put together individually using individual capacities. The seller can therefore add the defined margin to the price of flight tickets or leave the original price.
